Wade Alexander Schisler passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). Wade was born on October 20, 2021, in Beaumont, and from the very beginning, he brought boundless joy, laughter, and light to all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving parents, Adam Schisler (and girlfriend, Angela Miller) and Ashley Schisler (and boyfriend, Michael Wetuski) as well as his cherished younger brother, Dakota. Wade is also survived by grandfathers William Schisler and David Gagneaux and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory forever in their hearts.
Wade was welcomed into heaven by those who went before him, including his beloved grandmothers Dyann Schisler, Donna Gagneux, great great aunt Gina Evoritt and grandfather Russell Elliott along with other family members who now hold him close again.
Despite the challenges of his illness, Wade’s spirit remained unshakable. His smile could light up any room, and his determination and resilience inspired everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all his nurses and hospice team for their support and comfort during this journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the M LO Foundation to help fund research and provide resources for families affected by this rare disease: https://mld.foundation/.
A celebration of Wade’s life will be held at Claybar Funeral in Orange on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation to begin at 1:30 p.m., where friends and family are invited to share stories, memories, and the love he so effortlessly gave.
