Voting boxes for the Republican and Democratic party primary races will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, but some voters may see changes in their boxes.
Tropical Storm Harvey flooded some of the public places where voting has been conducted. Some of those were changed for the November elections and are now back to their original site. However, some boxes are being permanently changed.
Orange County Elections Administrator Tina Barrow said large red signs have been placed at all the former sites that are not being used. The signs will direct voters to where they should go.
For instance, Box 19 in Vidor is being moved back to the repaired Raymond Gould Community Center.
Barrow said Box 31 in Mauriceville is being permanently moved to the Mauriceville Assembly of God Church.
Box 7 in Orange will permanently be at St. Francis Catholic Church on Meeks Drive. Box 14 has moved from the Salvation Army on MLK Drive to West Orange-Stark Elementary, also on MLK Drive.
Also in Orange, Boxes 2 and 5 will be at the West Orange-Cove CISD Administration Building, 902 West Park Avenue (former Anderson school).
In Vidor, Box 18 will be at Vidor Junior High School on North Tram Road instead of Pine Forest Elementary.
The Orangefield schools sustained damage and the First Christian Church, 4234 FM 408, will have Box 23.
The Democratic Party has voting at the same boxes as the Republican Party with one exception. Democrats in Box 4 in Orange will vote at the Alexander Homes Senior Citizens Center, 2023 North Fourth Street.
