The Jefferson County Grand Jury indicted a woman from Vidor for being the getaway driver in a theft.
Beaumont Police report that on Dec. 31 at approximately 12:50am a man in a camo hoodie could be seen on camera behind the counter of the Honey Stop on Tram Rd. in Beaumont.
When police arrived they found the complainants near a vehicle in a ditch at the store with a woman in the drivers seat. It’s believed she tried to drive away with the store owners arrived. She was identified as Charlize Berwick, 20. Her identification was in the pocket of the door, along with the identification of Timothy Lewis, who was located hiding in a ditch.
Merchandise was found outside of a hole near the store that was used to get inside.
Both Lewis and Berwick were charged with burglary of a building.
