Vidor ISD announced Tuesday the passing of Mr. Phillip Maldonado, an Assistant Band Director at Vidor ISD.
Maldonado joined Vidor High School this school year after spending eight years in Orangefield. Before that he worked with the bands at Port Neches-Groves and Hardin-Jefferson.
The school said, “Mr. Maldonado joined our district this school year, returning to education after retirement, driven by his love for music and his desire to continue making a difference in students’ lives. With years of experience as both a head and assistant band director across Southeast Texas, and as the TMEA Region 10 President, he brought an incredible depth of knowledge and heart to our program.”
His wife Noelle works in the Bridge City School District. Services are pending.
