From a total of twenty applicants for the City of Vidor Police Chief position, City Manager Mike Kunst announces the four finalists for the Vidor Police Chief vacancy. In alphabetical order, they are Rod Carroll, Assistant Deputy Chief and Public Information Officer with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office; James Healy, Director of the Criminal Justice Training Center at the University of Houston-Downtown; Richard Howard, Highway Patrol Sergeant with the Texas Department of Public Safety; and Paul Odin, Chief of Police for the City of West Columbia.
Kunst will be interviewing the finalists soon, and hopes to bring a nominee for the police chief position to the Vidor City Council for approval in late November or early December.
