Vidor High School Accounting Teacher Sheri Weaver took her Accounting teams to the Beaumont Junior Achievement sponsored “Stock Market Challenge” competition which was held at LIT. It’s a stock market simulation that allows high school students to experience the thrill of trading in a live, high-energy environment.
The goal is to build the highest portfolio value through smart stock trading and investment decisions. Teams of students are given a virtual amount of money to invest in fictitious companies. They buy and sell stocks, with every 60 seconds in the simulation representing a full trading day. Congratulations to Conner Peddy, Braydon Perez, Elijah Sanchez & Jesse Bailey on winning 3rd place with their team. Also congrats to the other VHS participants Kenley Roderick, Emmah Sanford, Brylee Says, Atia Ahmad, Jett Brucia, Audrey Skiles, Logan Goodwin, Bailey Foxworth, Harrison Jobe, & Breanna Myers.
