When it comes to baseball Hunter Uzzle doesn’t take any time off.
The Bridge City grad just finished his collegiate season at Eastern Oklahoma State where he helped his team win the Conference Tournament. He then packed his bags to play this summer for the Brazos Valley Bombers in the Texas Collegiate League which is a wooden bat league for college baseball junkies.
After playing another 54 games in the Texas heat, the Bombers on Sunday, beat the Acadiana Cane Cutters 4-0 in the championship to win the TCL.
The Bombers (48-7) set league records for victories in the regular season and winning percentage which included a record-setting 21-game winning streak.
Uzzle, the bearded catcher, hit .268 with 4 doubles and 13 RBI’s.
Now he has just enough time for his mom to wash all his clothes before he moves to Natchitoches, La. to start fall ball with his newest team, the Demons of Northwestern State.
