United Way of Orange County held its Annual Meeting and Banquet on February 29, 2024. This was an opportunity for the nonprofit to share about their efforts in 2023. They provided nearly $500,000 in program funding to twenty vetted Partner Agencies who provide direct services in the areas of health, education, and financial stability.
They also discussed several special impact projects that they completed in 2023. One of which allowed children on Medicaid currently on a two year wait list for autism testing to reduce that wait time to just a couple of months. The nonprofit also led Project Sweet Dreams, which provided beds to over 50 kids in Orange County. These children had been sleeping with family members, on the couch, or sometimes even on the floor and now they have their very own bed.
United Way of Orange County also recognized their volunteers. There were 433 individuals who contributed 2,161 hours of their time to help with service projects in our community. New Board members and officers were installed at the Annual Meeting and Banquet. United Way of Orange County also discussed the Community Needs Assessment they recently conducted. These results will be released soon and this information will be used to help guide their work to better serve Orange County. Last but not least, the nonprofit encouraged everyone to get involved by giving, advocating, and volunteering.
