In an Orange Rotary Club first, Michael Umbenhaur surrounded by thumbprints of other Rotary members on a screen, accepted the gavel online from District Governor Becky Mason to become the new president of the Orange Rotary Club.
Umbenhaur, who is also the Reverend at First Presbyterian Church in Orange, said he would like to continue to complete last years goals that were slowed by the coronavirus. And he would like to see another school in the area create an Interact Club like Little Cypress-Mauriceville has through Rotary.
Also serving as officers for the 2020-21 year are President-Elect Daniel Moreaux, Vice President Amy Peevey, Treasurer Kristen Placette, Secretary Heather Montagne, Sergeant at Arms David May and Mike White, and Past President Ida Schossow.
Directors include: Sarah Boehme, Jennifer Burstfield, Sue Denosowicz, Rickie Harris, Sherry Hommel, David May, Amy Peevey, Jessica Hill, and Kelvin Knauf.
Executive Secretary Gracie Henry also announced those with perfect attendance. They include: Lorie Taylor and Mike Umbenhaur, one year; Sarah Boehme, eight years; Gracie Henry, 12 years; and Eddie Toohey, 29 years.
