After tabling a decision to announce a pitch count for high school baseball pitchers earlier this year, the UIL will call for a pitch count following a decision by the National Federation of State High School Association.
However each state that is a member of the association will get to come up with their own pitch counts. When the UIL previously proposed pitch counts, they suggested 95 pitches per game for pitcher 14-16 years of age and 110 pitches for pitchers 17-19.
The UIL’s decision will be made before the 2017 season begins.
