The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a fatal crash just north of Silsbee on Farm-to-Market Road 92, near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1122, that occurred Thursday, July 31, 2025.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 11:33 p.m., a tow truck was traveling north. It is reported that a Honda Accord failed to yield to the tow truck when it pulled from a gas station parking lot and was struck.
The driver of the Honda, Riley Ard, 18, of Buna, was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace. His passenger, 18 year old Tracyn Brady of Orangefield, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical staff.
The injuries to the tow truck driver are unknown at this time.
