The official filing dates for the March 2026 Primary are November 8th – December 8th but two couldn’t contain their excitement and are letting Orange County voters know their intentions.
Patrick Rainey (above) is running for chair of the Orange County Republican Party. The 57 year old Rainey said, “After attending a few meetings I’ve realized that there is much room for improvement in how our party is represented. We need leadership that is focused on the constituents in Orange County and is dedicated to helping them obtain the best candidate for all elected offices. My goal is to bring accountability, energy, and a welcoming attitude to this position. This is not a paid position nor is it one that is in the spotlight. However, it is a very important role that requires fairness, balance, and a servants heart.’
Cheryl Warren is the current Republican Party Chair.
Jeremiah Braneff also announced his candidacy for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3. Braneff, a U.S. Army veteran who lives in Bridge City, said his vision for the Justice of the Peace office reflects a commitment to fairness, transparency, and restoring trust in local government.
“A Justice of the Peace must lead by example,” Braneff continued. “I will uphold the law with fairness, compassion, and respect, guided by conservative principles and a belief in the God-given rights of every citizen. Justice in Orange County should reflect the values of hard work, responsibility, and community.”
The elected JP of Precinct of Prec. 3 is Joy Dubose-Simonton. She won election in 2014.
If you want to “Save the Date” early voting will be February 17-27 with Election Day Tuesday, March 3.
