
An 85-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a three-vehicle collision on Highway 62 at FM 1078.
Orange police reported Pauline Ledoux Ray of West Orange was taken by Acadian Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. She was driving a Ford Focus. Brandon Malachi Morgan of Orange was taken by Acadian to Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. He was driving a Ram 2500 pickup truck.
The driver of the third car, along with a passenger in Morgan’s truck, were not injured.
Police reported the collision was about 1 p.m. Saturday. Ray’s Ford Focus was in the southbound turn lane of Highway 62 preparing to turn onto FM 1078. Morgan’s pickup truck was traveling northbound on HIghway 62 when the Ford Focus turned in front of the truck, causing the truck to hit the Focus.
The impact knocked the pickup truck into a Chrysler 300 that was on FM 1038 preparing to turn onto the highway. Police reported all three vehicles had to be towed away because of the damage.
