Two people were arrested Saturday night for controlled substances after a patrol officer stopped an SUV for a non-working license plate light.
The stop was at 9:25 p.m. at Eighth Street and Park Avenue in Orange. The Orange Police officer said the man driving the SUV admitted to smoking marijuana and he had a small baggie of weed.
Police then searched the car and found a gram of crack cocaine under a seat. The woman passenger in the vehicle had residue of methamphetamine on the bottom of a bottle of hair spray in her purse. Officers also reported finding two marijuana grinders, a hand-rolled marijuana cigarette, and four red and white pills.
34-year-old Sean Michael Grutsch of Bridge City was arrested for felony possession of cocaine. Lacy Ann Hurles of Orange was arrested for the state jail felony of less than a gram of methamphetamine. Both were taken to the Orange County Jail.
