
On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, officers with the City of Orange Police Department were dispatched to multiple locations within the city in response to reports of gunfire. Witnesses at various scenes reported seeing two Black males discharging firearms before fleeing the area in a white SUV.
While investigating in the 1900 block of 10th Street, officers heard additional shots coming from the southeast. As they approached the 1600 block of 16th Street, another volley of gunfire was heard. While canvassing the area, officers observed a Black male running while carrying what appeared to be an AK-style rifle. The suspect fled on foot and entered a vehicle.
Officers broadcasted the suspect description and vehicle information, and the vehicle was subsequently located and stopped. The suspect, identified as 17-year-old Terrell Bell of Orange, was taken into custody without incident.
A second suspect, 20-year-old Ki’ontae Johnson of Orange, was later found hiding beneath a residence in the 1600 block of 10th Street and was also taken into custody.
Both individuals were booked into the Orange County Jail and charged with the following:
- Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot (Class A Misdemeanor)
- Deadly Conduct (Third-Degree Felony)
During the initial investigation, it was discovered that the two suspects had fired multiple rounds at both a residence and a vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire.
The investigation remains ongoing.
