The Orangefield Lady Bobcat varsity fought hard, but fell short in three sets to district-leading Hardin 21-25, 20-25, and 8-25. Mikayla Locke was the offensive and defensive leader of the night with 10 kills, 6 assists, and 14 digs. Haylee Spears worked hard at the night accumulating 3 blocks, while Paisley Reeves added 1. Hannah Block collected 11 digs, while Eliese Gravett added 7. Addisyn Moore led in setting with 9 assists. The Lady Bobcats fall to 6-5 in district play and look to bounce back next Tuesday vs. Anahuac.
The JV Lady Bobcats started off with two high energy sets against the Hardin Lady Hornets. Failing to gain a lead, the junior varsity lost, but had some great take-a-ways. Nicole Gay led the team in attacks. She stacked up 4 while Teal Kibodeaux had 3 and Gina Ragusa, Brynn Borel, and Laila Agerton added 2 each. Gay also had 6 assists and 4 digs on the night. Karlie Traxler had 2 assists and 6 digs while Addison Mouton had 3 assists and 9 digs; Paxton Oldham added 4 digs and Amelia McFatter tacked on 3. Kibodeaux and Matilde Cucinella had 1 block each. The Lady Bobcats finished both sets 22-25.
The Lady Bobcats wrap up district play next Tuesday vs. Anahuac. The Lady Bobcats will be celebrating their two seniors: Hannah Block and Addisyn Moore.
