
Some softball teams started district play Tuesday while other games were postponed.
The Bridge City Lady Cardinals (7-4-1, 1-0) came out swinging with a 21-1 (4) win over West Orange-Stark. Cambree LaComb was the star going 3-4 with a HR, double, 2 RBI’s and 3 runs scored. She also got the win, giving up one run on 3 hits with 6 strikeouts and one walk. Makenna Knight also had a big game at the plate going 3-4 with a double, triple and 5 RBI’s. Gabby Moore also had a triple going 2-4 with an RBI.
Orangefield’s game with Hardin will be played Wednesday at Orangefield beginning at 5pm
Vidor opened district winning in Jasper 24-6. WP-Sophia Aguirre. The Pirates scored 24 runs on 24 hits.
LCM 7-HF 0 in 7 innings
Keylie Washburn was on fire tonight at the plate going 3-3 with 2 singles and a 3 run homer. Tessa Erickson went all 7 innings and gave up 0 hits, walked 3 and fanned 4. The Lady Bear defense was lights out as well with 26 total chances, 5 assists 21 put outs and 0 errors. Also Frenzel went 2 for 3, Woodson went 1 for 2 with a double, Erickson went 2 for 4, Moss Jones and Brown each picked up a hit. The Bears are now 9-3-1 and will travel to Franklin for the last tournament of the year.
Deweyville’s game was postponed.

BASEBALL
Bobcat Baseball moved to 4-0 on the year after taking down the Tarkington Longhorns 9-2 on the road.
The Bobcats jumped out quick with a 5 run first inning and never looked back. Matthew Johnson had another huge night offensively, going 2-3 with a 2 run home run, a triple, and 3 runs scored. Cole Sanches had two hits of his own to go with 2 RBI’s. Carson Worthy and Kale Spears also made big contributions. Worthy went 1-2 with an RBI double and a walk, while spears had a big 2 RBI single in the first.
Carson Gonzales was the winning pitcher, going 4 strong innings of 2 run ball, while striking out 7. Raegan Valka finish the job with 3 dominant innings of shutout relief to seal the win. The Bobcats are back in action at 8:00 AM Thursday against Vidor to kick off the Philpott Motors Classic at PNG.
The Bobcat JV cruised to 12-2 victory over Tarkington to get the evening started. Jaxon Agerton and Davey Hogg had two hit nights at the plate, while Logan Anderson led the way with 3 RBI’s. Davey Hogg was also the winning pitcher after going 3 strong innings with 4 strikeouts. The JV Bobcats move their season record to 3-1-1 and are back in action Thursday afternoon against Lumberton at 1:15 in the West Brook Tournament.
