
The Vidor Lady Pirates stirred up the District 18-4A standings Tuesday, handing LCM (7-1) their first district loss in a 6-3 win.
Vidor (4-4) held a 5-0 lead after two innings. Tylen Cassel and freshman Daphney Arrant got things going with scoring hits in the first. Cassel finished 3-4 with 2RBI’s and 2 runs scored. Arrant was 2-4 with 2RBI’s.
Freshman pitcher Peycin Wilkins was awesome in the circle. She gave up no earned runs on five hits with 9K’s. “She was lights out tonight,” said first year Coach Brooke Collins. “She’s been our go-to all year. I’m proud of all the girls because we’ve shown improvement all season.”
Tessa Erickson (below) took the loss in the circle but had a great game at the plate for the Bears. She was 4-4 with two doubles.

Bridge City pounded Lumberton 19-1. Second baseman Cheyenne Mendoza lead the hit parade going 3-4 with two doubles and 5RBI’s. Hailey Ford and Kaylynne Christian drove in 3 each. The Cards (7-1) scored 10 runs in the fourth to end the game early. Lumberton falls to 3-5.
With the win the Lady Cards have secured a playoff berth for the 27th straight season.

Deweyville lost to Danbury 10-0

The Orangefield Lady Bobcats move to 10-0 in district play with a 14-0 run-rule victory over the East Chambers Lady Bucs. Teal Kibodeaux got the win on the mound giving up 2 hits in 4 innings with 6 strikeouts. Abigail Stephenson closed the game with 1 inning of work with 2 strikeouts.
Aubree Gamblin led the offense with 3 doubles, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Charlee Sanches added a homerun, a single, 4 RBIs and a run scored. Hallee Becker had 2 singles, 2 RBIs and a run scored. Hannah Bisson had a single and a run scored. The Lady Bobcats improve to 28-1 overall and will host Kountze Wednesday at 5:30.

BASEBALL
Silsbee beat Bridge City 6-5. The Tigers scored four in the third off Max Pachar after BC took a 1-0 lead in the first. The Cards added two in the fifth and two in the sixth and had the tying run on in the seventh before Tiger pitcher Matsyn Morris closed the door. Silsbee improves to 5-0 and BC drops to 5-2.

LCM defeated Lumberton 7-3. Jakson Struwe got the win and went 3-4 with a triple and an RBI. Leadoff hitter Mason Istre was 4-4 with a double and 2RBI’s. The Bears (3-2) and the Raiders (2-5) will play again on Thursday.

Vidor pounded 15 hits in their 10-0 win over WOS. Cade Safer lead the way going 3-4 with 2RBI’s and Blake Safer pitched a no hitter and struck out 11 in six inning.
