
The Orangefield Lady Bobcats defeated the Buna Lady Cougars 6-5 in come from behind fashion to improve to 5-1 in district play.
Abigail Curphey got the start on the mound working the first 3 innings with 6 strikeouts. Charlee Sanches got the win on the night, throwing the last 4 innings giving up just 2 hits with 3 strikeouts.
Charlee Sanches had what proved to be the game winning 2 RBI hit in the top of the 7th to put the Lady Bobcats up 6-5. She also had a triple, a run scored, and 3 RBIs on the night. Aubree Beck added 3 hits of her own with 2 runs scored. Hallee Becker had 3 hits, an RBI, a run scored, and got the 2 run rally going in the top of the 7th. Haylee Spears had 2 hits, including a double and a run scored. Paris Becker had a run scored.
The JV Lady Bobcats also got a big 13-2 win tonight tallying 14 total hits. Kenli Vacek led the offense with 3 hits, including 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Gracie Bickham, Montana Davis, and Christa Kyle all had multiple hit games. Bickham and Davis added RBIs. Maysie Carpenter had a bases loaded single that scored 3 runs and a run scored. Kamryn Kelley added a triple with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Breanna LaSalle had a hit, a walk and a run scored. Amelia McFatter had a single, an RBI and 2 runs scored. Abigail Stephenson also had a double, Stephenson got the win on the mound giving up 5 hits in 4 innings and 4 strikeouts. The varsity Lady Bobcats improve to 17-7-1 on the year and 5-1 in district play and will host Youth Night this Friday against Hardin, varsity only, at 5:30.

LCM beat Jasper 12-1 behind the bat of Keylie Washburn who was 2-2 with a HR, Triple and 4 RBI’s. Tessa Erickson also added a 3 run double and got the win in the circle with 11K’s in the five inning game.

Carson Fall struck out 14 as the BC Lady Cards handed Lumberton its first district loss 3-0. Haley Munoz was 3-3 with and RBI and Lexi Nugier and Nicole Sasser both got on base and scored. The Cards are 4-0 and the Raiders now 4-1.

Silsbee 18 WOS 2 – Latessa Turner went 1-2, Carlysia Simien went 1-2. They both scored in the 1st inning. Kensley Waller went 1-2, Jordynn Patton went 1-2.

BASEBALL
Orangefield pounded Buna 18-3. It was 3-2 Bobcats after three before OF switched to a spread offense. Caleb Fregia was 3-6 with 3 runs scored. Logan Cheek was 3-4 with and RBI and 3 runs scored. Matt Johnson was 3-4 with 2RBI and 2 runs scored and Cam Fountain had a double, a walk, 4RBI’s and 3 runs scored. It was also the return of All-Stater Kyle Michael. After blowing his knee in football, he returned to go 1-3 with a walk and an RBI. Pitchers Carson Gonzales and Kaleb Menard combined to hold the Cougars to just three hits in 6 innings.

BC sophomore Connor Riojas singled in the tenth inning to score Austin Frederick for the 2-1 walk off against LCM. Riojas led the Cards going 3-4 with 2RBI’s. Five Cardinal pitchers (Tucker, Tregre, Pachar, Frederick, Mulhollan) combined to hold LCM to just three hits and strike out 11.
Bear pitchers Landon Richards and Jakob Scheiderer combined to give up one earned run on 8 hits with 9K’s and four walks. These two teams meet again Friday at LCM.

WOS lost to Lumberton 9-3. The Mustangs had five hits. Christian Anderson was 2-3 RBI, Grayson Gregory 1-2 RBI, Blade Williams and Keythen Windom also had hits.

Vidor lost to Silsbee 3-1. Three players collected Vidor’s five hits (Baker, Cadroy 2, SIms 2). Bryce Bushell took the loss.
