
SOFTBALL
The Orangefield Lady Bobcats defeated the Kountze Lionettes 3-1 in the district opener. Junior Abigail Curphey had a great performance on the mound giving up just one run on three hits while striking out seven.
Freshman Hallee Becker led the offense going 2 for 3 at the plate with two runs scored. Senior Harleigh Rawls had a double and an RBI, and Curphey had a hit and knocked in two with a hard hit ball that forced a Kountze error. The Lady Bobcats open district 1-0, and travel to the Cleveland Rotary tournament this weekend.

BC beat Baytown Sterling 6-0 as Carson Fall throws a Perfect Game and strikes out 18. Cards had 6 hits, two of those by A. Autrey.

LCM shutout Deweyville 10- 0 in 5 innings. Ella Stephenson went all 5 and gave up 1 hit, 0 runs, 3 BB and 5 K. Eden Frenzel went 2 for 4 with 4 runs scored and 3 stolen bases and 1 RBI. Jacelynn Cook went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored, 2 stolen bases and 2 RBI. Ava Wright and Lexis Moss both had a double and Wright had an RBI. Keylie Washburn had a hit with 1 RBI.

SOCCER
The Bridge City Cardinals (14-3)(7-2) defeated the Vidor Pirates at home Tuesday night 4-2. Nate Stafford scored two goals for the Cards and Abraham Munguia also contributed a goal. Austin Bellanger, Jagger Carlin, and AG Gutierrez stood out defensively for the red birds. Goalkeeper Sebastian Sandino played the best match of his tenure as a Cardinal. The Cardinals travel to Lumberton Friday night to take on the Raiders. JV Cardinals beat Vidor JV 5-0 Jason Gutierrez scored 2 goals for the Cardinals, Brayden Mcrae also scored 2 goals and Lj Gutierrez also scored one for BC. Mikail Molley, An Nguyen, and Collin Moody played well definitely for the Cards. Atticus Moore played well at keeper to help preserve the shutout.

The Lady Bears traveled to Lumberton and lost to the Raiders 7-1. The lone goal for the Bears was scored by Belle Fisher on a penalty kick. The Lady Bears have a bye on Friday and will be back in action Tuesday night in Bear Stadium for senior night with festivities beginning at 6:30pm. Kickoff for JV will be 5pm and Varsity will follow at 7pm.
