A memorial visitation will be held for Trudy Ann Carlin, 76, of Carthage, Texas 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Hawthorn Funeral Home.
Trudy Ann Carlin was born July 15, 1947, in Jeanerette, Louisiana. She passed this life August 27, 2023, in Carthage, Texas. Trudy was one of four children born to the marriage of Clifton and Viola Borel Carlin. She was raised and schooled in Mauriceville, Texas graduating from Little Cypress High School.
Ms. Carlin spent her career as a legal secretary in Beaumont working many years for the firm of Brown and Brown. She loved horses and spent her younger years barrel racing. She was a talented country western singer and recording artist. In her later years she owned and operated the Interstate Antiques Mall in Beaumont. Trudy was a member of the River of Life Worship Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Jason Berry.
Ms. Carlin is survived by her loving son, Brandon Berry and wife Kristin of Carthage; sister, Cynthia Lippman and husband Bill of Livingston; brothers, Matt Carlin and wife Laney of League City, and Johnny Carlin and wife Sue of Conroe; grandchildren, Kaleb Simpson, Zachary Berry, Jude Berry Layla Berry, Logan Berry; and great grandson, Huxley Simpson; best friend, Judy Cox of Mt. Enterprise; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
