Traffic on I-10 eastbound was closed for a couple of hours Sunday after a box truck turned over during a heavy rain.
The accident happened between 16th Street and Simmons Drive. Traffic was diverted to the feeder road and fortunately the new on-ramp at Simmons was opened or traffic would’ve been stopped until the accident was cleared.
The driver refused medical attention at the scene.
