It didn’t take long for Orange police to recover a pickup stolen from the Little Cypress-Mauriceville school district. Detectives found it parked at the Texas Department of Public Safety office in Orange six hours after it was reported stolen this morning.
Detective Captain Robert Enmon said school personnel discovered the three-quarter ton pickup truck missing from the bus barn area about 6 in the morning. The truck had been parked behind fence with a locked gate. Someone cut through the fence to get to the truck.
Captain Enmon said police received information that a person with the truck would be getting identification at the DPS office on Highway 87 South. The truck was parked in the lot. The school district’s decals had been stripped off.
Police brought in three people for questioning but have not filed charges. Captain Enmon said the men have been “very cooperative” about the investigation.
