All Lamar campuses will be closed on Wednesday because of students/employees without power. Vidor ISD, LCMCISD, WOCCISD and Orangefield ISD will also be closed Sept. 2. BCISD will have classes.

6:30pm- There are a reported 14,000 Entergy customers without power in Orange County (mostly in Vidor) and 45,000 without power in Jefferson County.

A trailer overturned on the Rainbow Bridge, believed to be from Edouard, shutting down the bridge for several hours. It was reopened at 7:30pm according to TxDOT.

Tuesday 4AM, the center of Tropical Storm Edouard was located near latitude 29.0 North, longitude 92.8 West. Edouard is moving toward the west-northwest near 8 mph. A west-northwestward to northwestward motion is forecast during the next day or two. On the forecast track, the center of Edouard is forecast to reach the northwestern Gulf Coast within the warning area later today and move inland over southeast Texas tonight.
Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph with higher gusts. Significant strengthening is forecast today and Edouard could approach hurricane strength before it reaches the northwest Gulf coast later today. Rapid weakening is expected after the center moves inland.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
All Orange County public schools and Deweyville are closed Tuesday. Lamar campuses are also closed.
