Orangefield ISD experienced an outdoor electrical fire Thursday in their HVAC chiller compound located behind the junior high building. The fire was caused by an electrical transformer and said to be isolated to that system. Power is also out to customers on Hwy. 105 from the school to Hwy. 62.
The electrical system and HVAC chiller unit will be inspected soon and the district hopes to have all systems and power back and fully operational by Monday.
As of 9pm Thursday night Entergy reported close to 70 customers in the area are still without power.
