Good food, good music and a good turnout usually make for a good time and that was the case at the Bassmaster Open Tournament hosted by the Greater Orange Chamber of Commerce. The experience of hosting past tournaments showed as all the bases were covered.
Almost 400 fishermen and many of their families visited the area but it was nice to see some of our locals make the Top 12 on Saturday. Mike Soliz of Orange won the Co-Angler Division and Pro Carl Svebek, who has made Orange his home this year, walked away with the big trophies and checks. Trey Smith and Johnathon Simon from Orange also made the Top 12.
Music headliner Colt Ford put on a good show with an encore while Britt Godwin and his band did what they do best with traditional country. Friday night The Curse and The Cure, LN & The Crush, and The Ruxpins all showcased their local flavor of music.
