The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is asking for you help this week to solve a burglary that occurred in Mauriceville where a volunteer organization was working to rebuild a church.
Sometime between 4pm on Tuesday afternoon and 6 am Wednesday morning, someone broke into the Assembly of God Church located at 11477 Highway 12 in Mauriceville. The thieves used a ladder and entered the building from roof and attic area and then removed over $7,000 worth of tools. The tools belonged to the R.V. MAPS Volunteers who were here from over 6 different states to rebuild the church.
Whoever was responsible for the sad crime, left nothing for the volunteers to work with bringing the rebuilding of the church to an abrupt end.
Among the many tools stolen were Makita saws and planers, Dewalt sanders and pneumatic guns, Hitachi impact drills and finishing guns, Ridgid circular saws and many other assorted construction tools.
Some of the tools may be identified with “RAJ” or “Johnson” written in black marker.
