Traffic Stop Leads to Pursuit, Three Arrests, and Seizure of Illegal Narcotics
On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a Ford Mustang convertible for reckless driving on FM 105 near FM 1135. The driver refused to stop and fled from deputies, leading them on a pursuit along FM 105.
During the pursuit, deputies observed an occupant of the vehicle throw a bag onto the ground near the 10,000 block of FM 105. The vehicle was eventually stopped by deputies near FM 105 and Oilla Road. The driver, identified as Harold Pues, was detained along with passengers Jacienda Jones and Jerod Atkins.
Deputies later recovered the discarded bag, which contained approximately 13 ounces of suspected methamphetamines. As a result of the investigation:
• Harold Pues was arrested and charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle, Tampering with Evidence, and Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1, greater than 400 grams.
• Jacienda Jones and Jerod Atkins were each arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1, greater than 400 grams.
All three individuals were transported to the Orange County Jail and remanded into the custody of jail staff.
Sheriff Bobby Smith said, “The arrest of these three individuals and the seizure of a large amount of illegal narcotics was accomplished through the combined efforts of several law enforcement agencies. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received valuable information from concerned citizens regarding suspected drug activity, and our deputies worked closely with the Orange Police Department and West Orange Police Department to identify suspects bringing drugs into Orange County. We also want to thank the Bridge City Police Department and the Texas Highway Patrol for their assistance in bringing this pursuit to a safe conclusion without injury.”
