Thomas Harold Parks, affectionately known as “Harold,” passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10th, 2025, at the age of 72 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, surrounded by his loving family. A longtime resident of Vidor, Harold was a cherished member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Harold served his country honorably, retiring from the U.S. Army in 1992 after 20 years of dedicated service. Following his military career, he brought his leadership skills to The Stark Foundation, where he worked his way up to Chief of Security.
Harold lived life to the fullest, with a deep love for bowling, golfing, fishing, camping, and simply being outdoors. He had a special fondness for the thrill of horse races and the camaraderie of fast-pitch softball. A devoted father, Harold coached his kids in Little League baseball, creating memories that would last a lifetime. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan who enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and spending time with family—whether it was barbecuing, playing washers, or simply sharing stories. He also found peace in the simplicity of a quiet drive. Above all, Harold adored his grandchildren and treasured every moment with them.
Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Elizabeth Parks of Vidor, TX; his children Brian Thomas Parks and wife Becca of Baton Rouge, LA, Ronnie James Parks of Tyler, TX, Wesley Ray Parks and wife Jazmine of Tyler, TX, and Victoria D’Ann Landry and husband Taylor of Vidor, TX; and his cherished grandchildren Harper Claire Parks, Blake Thomas Parks, Beckett James Landry, and Elliott Hayes Landry. He is also survived by his first wife and mother of Brian, Shirley Lee Davis, and her husband Donald of Baton Rouge, LA.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred Ira Parks and Elda Reames, and his brother Wendell Ray Parks.
Harold’s legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
