The West Roundbunch Road swing bridge over Cow Bayou near Chemical Row has not been available to vehicular traffic since Thursday, October 21. County Engineer Corey Oldbury said that a motorized wedge that opens and closes the bridge went out that day and a replacement part is needed.
Oldbury indicated the contractors who are restoring the bridge ordered a replacement part for the wedge and believed it would only take one day to get the part. Over a week later the part has not been delivered. Oldbury added that the swing bridge was left in the open position to allow water traffic to pass through on Cow Bayou.
