
Susan Lee Martin, 67, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on March 20, 2025, at her home in Bridge City.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2025, at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Darrell Martin and Reverend Matthew Tuttle. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2025, at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor.
Born in Groves, Texas, on October 26, 1957, she was the daughter of Marshall Jackson, Jr. and Betty Lee Stone Jackson. A beloved figure in her community, Susan was known for her vivacious spirit and unwavering kindness.
An active member of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor, Texas, she dedicated her life to her faith, which was evident in her Christ-like love of others. Susan had many hobbies including making cards for loved ones, swimming, baking and travelling. She enjoyed collecting items representing her unique interests including Coca Cola products, Star Wars memorabilia and Princess Diana stamps. Susan loved music and most recently had a continuous stream of Charity Gayle vocals filling her home. Family was the cornerstone of Susan’s existence. She lived for her loved ones, devoting herself wholeheartedly to them. Her three cherished puppies were not just pets; they were integral members of the family, bringing her joy and companionship. A selfless individual, Susan had a unique ability to connect with others. She never met a stranger, embodying a warm and welcoming spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Known affectionately by many nicknames—“Grannie,” “Frannie,” “Gran Fran,” and “Short Stack”—she embraced each title with pride, reflecting the love and affection she garnered from those who knew her. Throughout her life, Susan looked up to individuals such as missionary Nona Freeman, admiring her commitment to service and her profound impact on communities across the globe. Susan Lee Martin will be remembered not only for her nurturing nature but also for the legacy of love and compassion she leaves behind. Her warmth and joy will be missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Betty Jackson; her husband of 40 years, Jake Martin; and her nephew, Jeremy Jackson.
She is survived by her sons, Jason Martin and wife, Courtney, of Bridge City, Darrell Martin, of Kansas, her daughter Jacqueline Lashbrook and husband, Jonathan, of Vidor, and Ryan Martin and wife, Marisa, of Bridge City; her grandchildren, Cameron Martin, Makenzie Martin, Kaleb Martin, Emma Martin, Olivia Lashbrook, Jase Lashbrook, Mia Martin, Annalise Lashbrook, Macy Martin, Mindy Martin, and Jacob Martin; her brothers, Ronny Jackson and wife, Bitsy, and Marshall B. Jackson and wife, Beverly; her sister, Charlotte Williams and husband, Mike; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
