Steven “Steve” Lane Caillier, 67, of Buna, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at home surrounded by family and friends.
Steve was born May 24, 1957, in Orange, Texas to Jules and Lucille Caillier. He lived most of his life in Buna. He retired from his career as a mechanic for DuPont in Orange and later fulfilled his dream of opening a restaurant in Buna, where he shared his love for good food and community. Caillier’s Cajun Snack Shack was a dream come true for him, and he loved his job of feeding his family and friends.
Steve is survived by his brothers, Kenneth Caillier and David Caillier and his wife Nita, both of Buna; and his sisters, Sue Lackey and Norma Buffington and her husband Robert, also of Buna. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved deeply.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, Feb. 22nd, at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Kirbyville with burial at Antioch Cemetery in Buna. The Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, Feb. 21st, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna followed with visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
