Duke definitely brought a brightening to the world when he arrived on Monday September 18, 1989 in Port Arthur, Texas to Robin Hebert and Steven L Hagan. Duke may have had some struggles, but he lived life to the fullest. We are grateful to know Duke is finally at peace. Duke met his future wife Lauren when they were in the 5th grade. Together, God blessed them with 2 sons, Blaize and Brody. They were absolutely the light of their daddy’s life. He would often say, “I am so blessed to be their daddy!” Duke worked in different fields of work; enjoying the variety of life and the thrill of learning new trades. He was never one to be held back from leaping outside his comfort zone. Learning to cut trees is something he learned early in life; however he was always more interested in saving them which enticed him to one day become an arborist. Duke obtained several certifications in the electrical field. He was also NCCER certified and could read blue prints like a pro. Duke truly loved the outdoors; especially fishing. He enjoyed every moment he was able to share with his boys, teaching them to respect nature and how to fish. He loved Colorado; saying it is so beautiful there. His goal was to one day retire there. He had never had a ski instruction but impressed the ski guides because he was such a natural. Duke always had a genuine concern for his family and friends. He never turned his back on a friend in need. He would give you his last 20$ if he thought you needed it. Duke held certain qualities to a higher standard; Love, loyalty, honor and respect. He had great respect for the elderly and felt we could learn so much from them. It was always important to him for young people to be taught and protected until they could fend for themselves. He loved cook outs and gatherings with his family & friends. His laughter was contagious; his heart pure; his intentions always the best. He never backed down and loved a good challenge. He despised drama and felt it was a waste of time. Duke gave the most amazing hugs. Hugs that could make the troubles of the world disappear. He was one of a kind. No matter the crowd he was around, he had the ability to make them all equally important. If you had a past or millions in your bank; It was all the same to him. He loved people. He would say, ‘Women love me and men wanna be me!”
