Several Regional Track Meets were moved to Monday after Saturday’s rain and Orange County is sending several athletes to the State Meet in Austin May 2-4.
Vidor’s Blake Richards (300H) and Raegan Stephenson (HJ). Both won Gold at the Regional Track Meet in Bullard. Richards set a personal best with a time of 39.15. The senior almost qualified in the 110 hurdles, finishing third with a PB time of 14.89.
Stephenson is trying to win her THIRD Gold medal in the high jump. She cleared 5-7 as the defending champ. She also won it as a freshman.
The LCM 4×200 team of Chelsea Petree, Dinah Tippins, Carly Fisher and Janet Le will be making the trip to Austin with a second place finish (1:43)

Orangefield’s Zach Morrow vaulted an impressive 14-9 to win at the 3A Regional and will advance to State.
The rule is the State Track Meet takes the top two finishers to Austin. In four regions that would equal eight qualifiers. The exception is that the track at the State Meet has nine lanes so they allow the third best time out of the four regions to be the ninth qualifier. And that honor belongs to the WOS 4×2 team of Nicholas Crosson, Chris Jones, Chadrick Lee and Taydren Perrault who ran a season best 1:27.12 to advance.
