On Monday Judge John Stevens sentenced Jahmirious Spraggins, 19, of Orange, to 8 years in prison for one count of attempted aggravated assault and 10 years probation on the other count.
Spraggins plead guilty to the charges in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in March at a club in Beaumont called DMoney Daiquiris Lounge on Phelan. Geraldo Escamilla, 30, was shot and killed and 25 year old Armando Camargo, 25, was shot and wounded.
Spraggins admitted that while two suspects were shooting at Escamilla and Camargo, he also attempted to shoot at them but his pistol malfunctioned.
The other two suspects, Armani Rasheed Wallace, 20, and Jaren Battles, 18, also from Orange, have not gone to trial. They were indicted in April.
