
The ATM stolen from a convenience store Tuesday morning in a smash-and-grab break-in has been found empty in Houston.
The thieves stole two pickup trucks in Orange before using one of them to ram through the front of the store so they could steal the cash machine. Orange Detective Captain Robert Enmon said investigators believe the thieves were from out of town.
The Shell store at 1955 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive was hit by the thieves about 2:40 Tuesday morning.
Police reports show a Ford F250 pickup truck was stolen earlier in the morning from the 600 block of Crepe Myrtle off 37th Street. A Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was stolen from the apartments on 37th Street. 37th Street is parallel to MLK Drive.
The Ford pickup was found abandoned on 40th Street in Pinehurst two hours after the theft. Captain Enmon said the Dodge truck has not been found.
