The Stark Museum of Art announced its 7th Annual ART: It’s Elementary exhibition. This year’s exhibition showcases 73 original works of art created by talented kindergarten through 3rd grade students from across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana. The exhibition will be on view through March 15 in the Community Art Gallery at the Stark Museum of Art. Additionally, an online version of the exhibition will be available at starkmuseum.org.
The exhibition highlights the creativity of young artists from public, private and home school settings. Schools in Orange County were invited to submit up to 15 works of art, while educators from outside Orange County were allowed to submit up to 10 entries after participating in the annual ART: It’s Elementary Teacher Workshop. Each participating campus selected the student artworks featured in the exhibition.
“The Community Gallery is filled with bright and vibrant work that sets an optimistic mood as we begin 2025. We encourage you to stop by and enjoy the talent of our youngest artists,” said Rebecca Johns, school programs manager at the Stark Museum of Art.
To celebrate the student artists, the Stark Museum of Art will host an Artist Recognition Ceremony on Saturday, March 15, from 2 – 2:30 p.m. at the museum. Each student whose artwork is featured will be recognized and presented with an award ribbon to commemorate their selection in this year’s exhibition.
