Orange Police were notified Thursday around noon that the man who was shot on Knox St. Monday night, passed away at a Beaumont hospital.
The victim, 21-year-old Daricko Stevens, is from Eunice, Louisiana and Orange Police said Stevens had been “in an on-going conflict” with people in his hometown.
The shooting was about 7:40 p.m. on November 16 in the 400 block of Knox Avenue in the Navy Park neighborhood. Captain Robert Enmon said Stevens was on the front porch of the house when a vehicle drove by and shots were fired.
Bullets from multiple guns struck Stevens. The original count was three but when he got to the hospital they said he had been shot 11 times.
OPD has been working with other agencies from Texas and Louisiana on the case. Enmon believes everyone involved is from Louisiana.
