Shirley Marie Robin 86, of Vidor, Texas Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, at Vidor Health and Rehab.
A native of Sour Lake, Texas, Shirley was a longtime resident of Vidor who built a life filled with love, faith, and service to her community. After marrying her lifelong love, J.D. Robin, in 1957, the couple made Vidor their home. In 1963, they opened Robin’s Grocery and Seafood, a cherished local establishment that became a pillar of the community.
Shirley was a devoted member of the Cowboy Church of Orange County and found joy in the simple, beautiful moments of life. She had a talent for crocheting, creating treasures that warmed both hearts and homes. She loved bird-watching and took great pleasure in feeding and observing the vibrant feathered visitors to her yard. Her flower garden was a reflection of her nurturing spirit, blooming under her gentle care.
Above all, Shirley’s greatest pride was her family. Her love and wisdom will continue to guide them. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.D. Robin; her son, Jeff Robin; her parents; and her siblings.
She is survived by her children, Gary Robin and wife Keri of Vidor, TX; Ginger Buford and husband Jeff of Vidor, TX; and Nancy Bailey and husband Bobby of Orange, TX; as well as her stepson, Tommy Robin of South Carolina. Shirley was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and strength.
Shirley’s family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with J.D. and Jeff in eternal peace. Her life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, and community. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
