Shirley Ann Cornelison, 80, of Vidor, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4th, 2024, at her home. A longtime resident of Vidor, Shirley dedicated her life to her family and her community. She embraced her role as a homemaker, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. In her free time, she nurtured a passion for writing, often weaving tales of romance that reflected her own deep love for life.
Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, William Cornelison of Vidor, TX; her daughter Deborah Robison of Vidor, TX; her son Brian Cornelison and wife Stephanie, also of Vidor, TX; and her siblings: Jackie, Jimmy, Ronnie, Dale, and Terry Woodfield. Shirley’s legacy lives on through her eight grandchildren: Traci Abrams and husband Albert Terry, Brandon Abrams, Michael Williams, Peyton Cornelison, Brilie Cornelison, Avin Whitsitt, Weldon Whitsitt, and Braelyn Whitsitt; and her four great-grandchildren: Jayden Travs, Danny Jones, Aulbreigh Williams, and Autumn Terry.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Wayne Cornelison, who she held close in her heart until her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory, supporting the fight against the disease.
