Friday afternoon Bridge City Fire and Rescue was called to the 5300 block of Fairview Dr. in Bridge City. They arrived to find a shed near a home fully engulfed. They were able to put out the fire without it damaging the home.
Unfortunately eight puppies perished in the fire. The homeowner had put a space heater inside the shed and it is believed that was the cause of the fire. The momma dog was able to get out.
Firefighters remind the public the space heaters should not be anywhere near flammable objects. Also do not use a multi outlet with a space heater.
