As the year 2015 draws to a close, it is an honor to announce my intent to seek re-election as Sheriff of Newton County I want to say how proud I am to be your Sheriff and I pray each of my county residents, friends, and family a safe holiday season. I encourage you all to set aside time during this busy holiday for those you love and cherish. As in any election I will have signs immediately available to post at your residence or business. I look forward to the coming year 2016 and putting the past behind us so we can proceed forward as a united county tackling the issues together. I will be launching a new website www.newtoncountytx.com which will operate alongside my Sheriff Eddie Shannon Facebook Page. I believe communication is key for any relationship to work effectively and being your Sheriff means I want my county to have information in a timely manner. I can be contacted through each of these site as well as by phone or in person. I believe the month of December should focus more on family and the heavenly meaning behind the season and less on politics. On behalf of the Newton County Sheriff’s Office personnel and my family, I wish you all a very safe Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
