Sabine FCU is pleased to announce our scholarship recipients for 2020. The recipients were chosen from local high school graduates and each were awarded a $1,500 scholarship.
- Remi Cobb from Bridge City High School. She will be attending Lamar State College Orange majoring in Nursing.
- Sarah Young from Community Christian High School. She will be attending Lamar University majoring in Nursing.
- Colby Mendoza from Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School. He will be attending the University of Houston majoring in Political Science.
- Lily Saucedo from Orangefield High School. She will be attending Lamar University majoring in Business.
- Reagan Reddoch from Vidor High School. He will be attending Lamar Institute of Technology majoring in Instrumentation Technology.
- Kiasia Wilson from West Orange-Stark High School. She will be attending Lamar University majoring Nursing.
- Ashlyn Dommert from Bridge City High School. She will be attending Lamar University majoring in Nursing.
- Robert Simpson from Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School. He will be attending Lamar University majoring in Nursing.
To qualify, students are required to write an essay about why they deserve the financial assistance. The scholarship committee scores the candidates based on their essay, financial need and extracurricular activities. Sabine FCU’s scholarship program was established over 20 years ago to give local students financial assistance in furthering their education.
