
Seqwenda Tene’ Gosey Haley was born on June 8, 1976 to Ruby Jean Arnett Gosey & Calvin Earl Gosey in Jefferson County, Texas. She attended West Orange Stark High School. She was a long time resident of Orange, Texas, she recently relocated to Austin, Texas.
In 2003, Seqwenda married Dwayne Keith Haley, in October of 2002 they brought into this world a beautiful baby girl; Amori Sade’ Haley making Telena Dene’Haley a proud big sister.
Throughout Seqwenda’s life she worked at Waffle House, Burger King, And the Longhorn. She loved being able to be in the kitchen and the joy she had cooking for others really filled her heart. Even when she could not be in the kitchen she was still telling you how to cook the food! She also loved teaching her daughter Amori everything she knew about cooking.
Seqwenda was an active member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. She served in the Women’s Mission. Seqwenda was also previously a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served in the choir and the culinary ministry. Seqwenda shared GOD’S word and her testimony with many people.
Seqwenda enjoyed anytime there was a family gathering. She loved to go fishing and crabbing and always had her good share of crawfish every season. She enjoyed watching The First 48 and Law & Order SVU, along with WWE Raw & Smackdown, Randy Orton was her man! She had a love for many genres of music. Her love for butterflies comes from the remembrances of her mother Ruby Jean. Seqwenda had a very determined spirit no matter how hard it was for her on the inside she always pushed through with a good attitude and an optimistic outlook on life.
Amori and Seqwenda loved talking about future plans for them, they also enjoyed dancing with each other and watching movies. Their favorite place to eat was Kam Wah. She was always sharing her knowledge and life experiences with her nieces and nephews.
Seqwenda is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Jean Arnett Gosey & Calvin Earl Gosey; brother Donald Keith Reedom (Dana).
Seqwenda leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughter, Amori Haley of Austin, Texas; step-daughter, Telena Haley of Port Arthur, Texas; siblings, Anita Renae Smith, Retha Michelle King of Houston, Texas, Harold Reedom (Jennifer) of Beaumont, Texas, Darlene Dumas (Matthew), of Alvin, Texas, Butch Hadnot, Tehesha Gosey (Nikki) of Austin, Texas, and Cheldra Thomas of Orange, Texas. Twenty-Three nieces and nephews many beloved great nieces and nephews and cousins. Two God-Children Donald (DJ) Griffin Gosey and Journee (May-May) Smith whom she loved dearly. Aunts and Uncles that were always there to support Seqwenda whenever she needed. In addition a loving godmother, Mrs. Alice Boston and a very good friend, Hebert Charles.
Going home celebration will be on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Orange, Texas.
Service time begins at 12:00 (Noon). Visitation begins at 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Orange, Texas. Under the direction on Colonial Memorial Chapel.
