Dear Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas,
On behalf of my family and loved ones, I want to extend my deepest and most sincere gratitude for your recent post highlighting the unsolved case of my mother, Beverly McBride.
Your willingness to share her story and keep her memory alive means more than words can fully express. On Saturday, September 1, 2007, my mother’s body was found in the 2100 block of N. 2nd Street in Orange, Texas. The days leading up to that discovery, her vehicle — a black Ford Five Hundred — had been reported abandoned in Beaumont. Since then, our family has lived with unanswered questions and unimaginable grief.
Thanks to your platform, there is now renewed hope that someone, somewhere, may come forward with the truth. By continuing to amplify her case, you are giving voice to the voiceless and strength to families like mine who are still seeking justice.
Thank you for being a light in dark times. We pray that through the continued efforts of Orange Police Department, your team, and the community, the truth will one day come to light.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Comelita Smith
Daughter of Beverly McBride
