Orange police Sunday afternoon arrested a second suspect in the armed robbery last week in which a dog was shot and killed.
Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the man was arrested at his grandmother’s house in the 2200 block of 16th Street. Officers were crawling after the suspect in the attic of the house and he crashed through the sheetrock.
Keondrick Arabian Ali Barlow was arrested with a warrant of aggravated robbery. Police report he had other outstanding arrest warrants, including two for misdemeanor assault cases.
Four young men inside a house in the 1400 block of Cherry Avenue were robbed about 9:20 p.m. September 24. Three men, with one brandishing a pistol, stole a cell phone and a small amount of marijuana. Two of the victims were hit in the face with the pistol. One suffered a gash above an eye and the other was scratched on the face.
On the way out, the gunman shot and killed a Labrador retriever. When police arrived, one of the victims was holding the dog’s body.
Late last week, 20-year-old Deontae Armstrong was arrested in connection with the robbery.
A man first suspected of burglary ended up being arrested for criminal trespassing. The tenant of the property held the man at gunpoint until police arrived.
The incident was reported at 8:13 p.m. Saturday at a house in the 800 block of 16th Street. The tenant told officers he went to check on the property and saw a light on inside, plus he heard a man’s voice. The 74-year-old tenant saw the man inside leave through a window, stopped him, and held him until officers arrived.
Police reported the man inside the house said he had gone inside to sleep. Officers did not find any stolen items on the man. However, he was arrested. 47-year-old Lansing Herbert Fellman of Orange faces the misdemeanor charge of criminal trespassing and he was taken to the Orange County Jail.
A man told police he took his eyes off the roadway for a couple of seconds, but it was long enough for him to hit two mailboxes and a light pole. Officers went to the 300 block of Camellia Street about 4:30 p.m. Friday. A Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck traveling eastbound on Camellia had hit the objects, with the pole stopping the truck. The 37-year-old driver was not injured and was given a ticket.
