Local public school districts are planning on opening for in-person classes the week beginning Monday, April 13. Because Easter is on April 12, different districts have scheduled days off. The Little Cypress-Mauriceville school district has a spring break scheduled that week and will take the days off.
The superintendents of the five districts in Orange County met Wednesday to coordinate dates. The official documents say schools are closed until April 10, which is Good Friday. The day had been a scheduled holiday for all.
Dates for returning are:
Bridge City: Monday April 13 is a scheduled holiday and classes will start on Tuesday April 14.
LC-M: Spring break was scheduled April 10-April 17. Classes will start after the break.
Orangefield: Classes will begin Monday April 13.
WO-C: Monday April 13 is a scheduled holiday and classes will start on Tuesday April 14.
Vidor: Monday April 13 is a scheduled holiday. Teachers will return Tuesday April 14 and classes for students will start Wednesday April 15.
LSCO: Students will begin distance learning online March 30. Some lab classes and hands-on courses will meet beginning April 13. Fall registration will begin online as scheduled on April 1.
