The Texas Education Agency Wednesday released the first report cards for schools, but the ones in Orange County were excused from the grading because of Hurricane Harvey.
The agency this year gave letter grades of A, B, C, D, and F, like student report cards. However, the five Orange County school districts, along with the Deweyville ISD, had “This district was impacted by Hurricane Harvey and did not receive an overall rating or grade.”
The exemptions were made because some school districts missed weeks of classes after Harvey damaged buildings and made classroom unusable.
Tentative overall grades listed had Orangefield with an 88, or a B. Bridge City had an 86, or a B. Vidor had an 82, or a B. Deweyville had a 69, or a D, and West Orange-Cove had a 58, or an F.
