The Vidor Pirates overcame some adversity and beat two state ranked teams this weekend to win the East Chambers Tournament. Bryce Loftin was named MVP and Jose Guerrero-Evans and Caden Beavers were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Orangefield Bobcats traveled back to New Caney Porter High school for Day 2 of their Christmas tournament. OF lost to Katy 57-37. EJ Jones and Nick Roger’s led the charge for the Bobcats with 9 points each. Griffin Thomas led the team in rebounds with 9. The Bobcats played Rudder in Gm.2 and despite multiple players in foul trouble OF closed it out late 61-55. Leading the way was Jaden Scales with 16 points. Griffin Thomas was a beast on the boards with 9 rebounds, followed closely by Owen Sims with 8. The Bobcats finished 3-1 on the weekend moving their season record to 15-6. The varsity will be back in action on Jan. 3 against East Chambers in a district matchup.
At the LCM Waterboy Tournament, Bridge City beat Woodville 62-27. Aaden Bush scored 22 to go over 1000 career points. He was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Hunter Silveira. BC would lose their night game to Center 58-40. BC (15-8) will continue district play at Lumberton on Jan. 3.

GIRLS
Bridge City finished second at the Wimberley Tournament and post an impressive 23-2 record. The Cards beat Austin Lehman 48-33 to advance to the final where they lost to state ranked Wimberley 72-63. Aubrey Small, Whitney Cunningham and Mia Sterling were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Hamshire-Fannett beat LCM at the EC Tournament 47-38
Reeves,La defeated Vidor 56-30 as the Lady Pirates finished second in the silver bracket at the EC Tournament. Freshman Hadlie Jackson was selected to her third All-Tournament team. Vidor (11-13, 1-3) will play LCM on Jan. 3.
