Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School will host a Veteran’s Day assembly in the Dr. Pauline Hargrove Gym (The Grove) on Monday, November 12 at 2:25 pm. All veterans are invited to attend as our special guests. Veterans are asked to arrive at 2:00 p.m. and may come directly to the gym. Once all students are seated we will open the assembly with the seating of our special Veteran guests. The assembly will conclude at 2:45 p.m. Those with questions should call LCM High School at 886-5821.

St. Mary Catholic School cordially invites ALL Veterans to be honored at our Annual Veterans Day Program. It will be held at the school on 2600 Bob Hall Road in Orange at 10:00 am on Monday November 12th. We will have guest speaker, Victor Rincon, then roll call for all Veterans in attendance. Please join us to be honored and recognized.

The Orange Church of God is having a special health fair Friday, November 9, to help homeless veterans and their families, along with other homeless people. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 1911 North 16th Street. Lunch will be served and door prizes awarded. Clothing and haircuts will also be available. Participants will need an identification card like a Texas driver’s license, ID card, military card, or Social Security card. Military surplus items are reserved only for homeless veterans and they will need proof of service like a DD-214 or Veterans ID. Free duffle bags will be given to people who qualify. The event will include medical screenings, mental health screenings, substance abuse treatment information, HIV/AIDS information, plus information on food stamps. The event will also have more than 25 non-profit groups that provide services for homeless veterans and veterans.
